@Dongar What's the ETA on your parking mode adaptor?

I've got a VioFo 229 2ch 4k dash cam installed via the 12 volt outlet. I wanted to buy one of your adaptors, I just have the luck of buying a thing only to find out the new thing is coming out soon.

It looks like a great product, I'm just apprehensive about double spending on it if it's not too far out into the future.

@ambit I'm impressed! So I guess you wired to the fusebox right? Did you have issues putting the plastic covers back on over the fusebox?
plugged into the cigarette plug adapter, you can just barely see it. black/white thing by the tic-tacs. Right past the fuse box didn't even consider it lol.

I installed the Garmin Mini 2 with the Dongar adapter. Check out the video!

Great video. What I struggled with was connecting the Garmin app to the Mini 2. There's a conflict with Carplay. I tried turning Carplay off in the infotainment system and that didn't work.

My workaround is to turn Carplay off on my iPhone, and the Garmin app connects just fine when I need to download a video.

Other than the download issue, it works fine with carplay?

The camera works fine. I can tell it, "OK Garmin save video," and it saves the video and has eight hours of video on the card before it starts overwriting.

What I can't do, is access the videos without turning off Carplay in my iPhone. No big deal.

They are great cameras. I'm surprised Garmin Support doesn't have that answer yet.

A question about running wires down the A-pillar. Where do you bring the wire across the pillar? It looks tempting to use the seam at the top of the windshield, but won't this interfere with side air bag deployment? If not this seam, where do you run the wire? If you do use that seam, is airbag interference a concern? Thanks.

- it’s not just Garmin, I also have the issue and I run some off branded camera from Amazon that works great, but I also need to turn off the CarPlay to access they camera via Bluetooth. Or just use another device, I sometimes just go and get my iPad and download videos to it.

My truck has arrived at the dealership, all I need now is a dash cam. How far away from the dongar parking mode setup release are we @Dongar ?

I have been watching what seems like 1000 YT videos after the one post of the guy that got hit by the oncoming car. I am doing a dashcam.

I have it narrowed down to Viofo A229 pro 2 channel, A139 Pro and the Vantrue N4. Vortex Radar has some good comparison videos.

Now I think I am going to wait for the parking donger version harness. I have a Sport Premium so I think I need the 10 pin. True?

@Dongar I want the most stealth mounting. Will this dongar adapter be able to be hidden in the space by the mirror so the only thing that you see is the wire? That would be ideal. Also I would vote for the safest cutoff just to be well safe.

I have a little older 2 channel VIOFO with the @Dongar adapter. I chose to hook into the existing port for the factory dash cam and it works very well. The adapter is hidden and install looks super clean.

The ten-pin worked fine in my OR with the Premium package. I mounted the electrical box beside the (Safety Sense) camera cover, and it looks fine.
