I just bought a new 2024 Tacoma Limited. When I fill it with gas it only shows that I have 266 mile range. Is this normal or should it be showing over 350 mile range?

Couple of things. Your truck will need some time to adjust its mpg estimating to your driving style and typical conditions. And more importantly, the estimated range is subtracting a fairly huge amount of gas from your tank as a buffer. Probably around 3 gallons. I think Toyota does this in all their vehicles. It’s frustrating because if you want t an actual range figure you probably need a calculator.

Mine always says 273 miles on fill up. It drops linearly until about 150 miles, then drops slower than it should. I usually drive about 315 miles with 0 miles left on the computer screen range. I fill up about 16 gallons which means I likely have 2 extra gallons in reserve

My average is 22.8mpg over 5892 miles. My range displays around 350 miles after full up.

My TRD Off Road Manual estimates 210 on a full tank. (mostly short driving so fuel economy os pretty terrible)

No I don’t. I usually fill up when it says I have around 50 miles. Typically it’s around 15.5-14 gallons at fill up.

I will say the DTE tends to read more aggressive when averaging a lower fuel economy, for whatever reason. Specifically while towing.

Normally it would go down to near-zero and still fill up on just over 16 gal, when I was averaging around 20 mpg.

But when towing (averaging around 14mpg) I noticed that even with 30-some odd miles left on the range I fit just under 16 gal in the tank. This would mean running it to zero would truly read close to an empty tank.

As such, I basically don't use the range when towing because it seems somewhat inaccurate. Whereas the fuel flow will definitely be very accurate. So I just fill up every 220-230 which should leave me with around 2 gallons in the tank or so.

It's probably my biggest gripe with the new truck, the fuel tank is absolutely paltry for towing operations. I really hope that LRA or someone comes out with an extended tank, but not holding my breath....

My TRD Pro shows 284. Right now, I'm averaging 19.3. I have about 1000 on the odometer.

My Average MPG is 26, I usually show close to 400, it adjusts accordingly. I get over 400 per tank. My highest is 32 MPG on a trip.

My average highway speed is around 88 mph, so I'm sitting at about a 18.9/19.0 average mpg over 3800 miles. When i get a full tank it's usually reading ~290 miles to E
