Recently went down the rabbit hole of researching dash cams. I came to the conclusion that most are more similar than different. I bought the Viofo A229 Pro 2ch and the Dongar 5pin Type A adapter. However, I think you need to wire it to the fuse box for the parking mode to have power.
I thought my seats (SofTex) were a little stiff at first but they softened up and are comfy now. I did notice the head rest is not great if you like to sit upright. I’m 6’3 so I tend to lean back a bit and they’re not an issue.
Right at the one month mark with my OR w/ premium package.
Pros:
Low end torque makes it fun and easy to drive
8 speed transmission is well tuned. Doesn’t shift hard like my 2nd gen.
Handles well and soaks up crappy roads
The 360 camera view is amazing for parking
Wireless CarPlay has worked...
You can feel it a bit going over big bumps, the extra weight pulling the suspension down. It’s not bad tho. It was much worse with my 2nd gen Tacoma running Wildpeaks.
In regards to power, it’s barely noticeable. It might actually feel a little more natural as it causes the truck to linger in...
Method 703 wheels + Toyo Open Country A/T III 285/70/17 tires installed.
Loving the clean and minimalist look of the 703s. Went with the SL rated Open Countries and they’re nice a comfortable for daily driving. They do have a bit of a hum at highway speeds but it’s not terrible. Going from 60lb...
Loving the clean and minimalist look of the 703s. Went with the SL rated Open Countries and they’re nice a comfortable for daily driving. They do have a bit of a hum at highway speeds but it’s not terrible. Going from 60lb Wildpeaks on my 2nd gen to these is a big difference.
I browsed around the wheel and tire section as well as googling a bunch of wheels I liked to see them on vehicles. I often found that wheels I liked from a picture looked a lot different once mounted on a vehicle. Also, I don’t like much poke so having at least +35mm offset was a must for me...
After browsing through tons of universal mudflaps I think those look better than most. A lot of them are huge. I might have to look into fabricating my own. Thanks for sharing!
With modern turbocharged engines you usually need a tune when changing the intake. Otherwise the default MAF mapping will cause issues, usually with low RPM operation.
We already have a cold air intake, the factory intake box is pulling in air outside the engine compartment. Any power gains are...
I think doing 10k oil changes is probably fine if you aren't doing things that make it hard on your engine. I'll still be doing them at 5k as that's what I see as cheap insurance. And I work from home so I have a lot of short trips to the store and don't get a lot of highway miles.
I trust Car...
After trying out LT and SL tires on my 2nd gen Taco I ended up ordering SL rated Open Country AT3s for my 4g. I like the softer ride. The heavy and stiff LT tires change a lot of how the suspension feels.
I went on a search for these a couple days ago. Found several vendors on eBay selling them with tires. Wheel part # APTR817906139712MB. Found one vendor online that sells just the wheels. Not sure if I’m allowed to link but you can find it with the part #.
Love the way these look but I think...
Hi all.
Picked up my 2024 Tacoma OR premium on 5/25.
I had a 2013 Tacoma before this and it had a good run. Got a bed cover ordered and now I'm itching to get some new wheels and tires and maybe some running boards/sliders.
