2024 Tacoma Integrated Bed Scene Lighting

I'll update this thread again with the bulb, harness, etc when the work is done. It's already 4-6 weeks out tp get the bulbs identified. We'll see. Still no part number on the harness. Just hysterically sad that a truck that's been in production over 6 months and Toyota can't find a part number for their own wiring harness!

Absolutely frustrating indeed. I am sorry you're dealing with this.

On a side note, If you have a chance, snap some pics of the part numbers when they bring it in and pop that cap off, or maybe even just the order sheet lol. I will owe you some beer!

Nope. I need to follow up with the service manager to see if they even have the wiring harness part number identified!

Worst of news. Parts really needed are backordered with no ETA. Not acceptable. I'll be making yet another call to Brand Engagement when I get the part numbers from my dealer in the morning. I'm truely pissed off at this point.

No update. I have a call into the Toyota Brand Engagement report that helped expedite what ended up being only the plastic rail top last November. He's out of the office until Wednesday. We 'think' we have the correct part numbers, but on backorder with no ETA. Toyota obviously has the parts, but soley for new production obviously. No aftermarket support at all. This has become a Toyota parts channel joke, and not the funny kind!

@brentbba yeah it's been ridiculous. You'd think they'd have a well fleshed out catalog but the last place I go to find a part that I want to order is to the dealer. Heck, I've asked the dealer for a part for my Tacoma and was told they had no eta on when they'd have it. I called right back and asked for a specific part number and was told they had it in stock.

I too am looking for either the OEM part, or a nice aftermarket option for the LED lights. I was able to order the Bed Rail Caps with the cut outs while Toyota was having that big holiday sale, but similar to you, they came with no lights. Just the plastic parts.

So I need the find some lights that will fit.

Can you send me the part number for the Bed Rail Caps with Cut Outs? I’m going to order as well and just wait for the lights

Diode Dynamics makes a plug-and-play kit that is a little cheaper than Toyota's. It's currently on backorder but you can purchase it here. According to their website, it's compatible with all 2024 trims.

They are one of the best aftermarket lighting manufacturers around. I am planning on getting this kit and the fog light upgrades from DD, when I finally get my truck. I am also considering the SSC2 ditch light kit because they are nice and compact(I don't want a "bro" truck.)

yeah. i installed the DD bed scene lights. i like them. i am going to move them from the bed rails and mount on the outside of the Tune M1 so i have Trailhunter-like scene lighting tied to the OEM cab switch.

By the way, apparently the official internal name for the bed rail trim is "Rear Body Side Panel Protector"

Were you able to order the parts based on these numbers? I have the rail caps. I just need the lights and the wiring harness

Yep, that's the official name. That's not the part we've been after since July, 2024! It's the bigger 1 above that has the lights and wiring as the diagnosis was an electrical short in the DS harness. 'Supposedly' that part should arrive at the dealer late February. I'm not holding my breath. Toyota has really blown it on parts support on these trucks.
