My salesperson told me that Toyota lost a Tundra sale before it arrived last year. It left a a transit center headed to their dealership, and then it just disappeared from the system. After weeks of searching they found it in a Richmond,VA distribution place, who didn't even know that they had it.
This happened because someone didn’t do their job correctly; it was scanned out but not scanned back in.

I just flew to Ohio yesterday 10/24 and picked up my 6’ Trailhunter last night. Built 9/21, train all the way to Illinois, truck to Ohio, dealer received 10/21.

Plus they didn't deliver it to the dealer, but took it 100 miles away to another distribution location.

I'm glad we're within the 'non-worrying' threshold. lol. Will they tell us when to worry? My salesperson said she wouldn't expect an update in the system until it got loaded on the train. It all seems more chaotic than I'd expect from Toyota. I wonder if they know which ship. That would at least give us something to track.
The screengrab they sent me had a blank spot for a ship name but it just said not availible :/

Just got an updated date, now expected 11/7. I don't think the boat has left LZC yet theyve gotta be backed up.
Oh dope! I’d like to hope we are all on the same boat lol. Where’d you get that info? Sales rep or elsewhere? Curious if you got a ship name too 🤓

A bunch of trucks in the Phoenix area (including mine) had their status online updated today to "Estimated Availability 10/29-10/31." I texted my dealer and she told me she could see it was loaded onto a ship in Mexico on 10/26 and is expected to be on the dealer lot between 10/28-10/30.

Now...if it really got on the boat on 10/26 and left right away, it takes about 3-4 days to sail from LZC to LGB, which means there's no way its getting into Phoenix by 10/30. However, there is a ship named 'Donington' that just left port yesterday and should arrive on Thursday (10/31). I'm thinking a week at best to unload and distribute the trucks. So maybe I'll get my truck next weekend?

My sales rep texted me this afternoon and said the eta was today by EOD or tomorrow at least in toyotas system and we are thinking by the end of the week/into the weekend probably at the latest. I’m in the LA area (out east though) so it’s only an hour or two from the port depending on traffic. If they’re loaded on a train at the port it could get to AZ sooner than you think!

I’ve worked some overnights and early mornings down at this port over the last couple years (in a totally different industry but I could see them moving stuff around) and they’re always working. Well almost. They go in two shifts and it’s quiet between 3ish am to 7am. I don’t know if they do that every day of the week though. I remember it got busier post covid and we had to work around them a little bit for logistics. All this to say, yours might be unloaded and on its way to AZ quicker than you think!

I just looked at my truck on my dealers site and it now shows "Vehicle may be in transit. Contact dealer to confirm availability. Estimated availability 11/02/24." . I just pinged my sales guy to confirm. Hopefully this Saturday is the big day!
