Anyone know if there’s a physical data screen I can buy that ties into Carista so I can have a constant display while driving instead of having to look at my phone

FYI, everything done with Carista can also be done with a knockoff Toyota Techstream cable from eBay. That approach will cost you $30 upfront and no recurring cost, but does require more technical knowledge and a Windows computer. Legacy Techstream does work on the 24 Tacoma even though only the new Global Techstream is officially supported.I am intrigued about Carista... and, I would like to purchase it... However... I am turned off about having to "subscribe" to their service just to use it! If I only subscribe for the first month, make my changes, and then "unsubscribe", do the changes vanish? And, what if the company goes out of business one day, or, simply stops supporting it?
Hey there Wags, can you tell me where the fake engine noise delete is? I just got Carista, took a look around my truck yesterday, and I could not find any engine sound enhancement parameter in my TRD OR premium. Perhaps there are only certain specific Tacoma models that got that non-enhancement, but your build looks similar to mine.Only thing I've done is disable the seat belt chime, adjust how long the turn signal stays on and turn off the fake engine noise.
I would like to have the brake activate automatically so I don't need to hit the button each time I start the truck but don't think you can.
What have you guys done?
I have the same truck and its in there some place, I turned mine off 6 months ago so I don't remember where it was. Just look around once you have it connected and you should find itHey there Wags, can you tell me where the fake engine noise delete is? I did the same thing - turned it off, drove it for a few minutes and turned it right back on. Fake or real it sure sounds a lot better with it than without it to me.i turned the "fake" (i don't think it's actually fake, it just slightly amplifies the real engine noise through the speakers) engine noise back on before my subscription ran out. but i don't care even if it is fake - it sounds better with it enabled.
That should be a new option, "Tune your engine sound". I want "V8 with free flow exhaust"I did the same thing - turned it off, drove it for a few minutes and turned it right back on. Fake or real it sure sounds a lot better with it than without it to me.
Yeah, that would be awesome. The sound from that glorious V8 with the TRD exhaust system is one of the things that I do miss about my Tundra. That should be a new option, "Tune your engine sound". I want "V8 with free flow exhaust"
Same, I had a Dirty Deeds custom tuned catback system. It was glorious.Yeah, that would be awesome. The sound from that glorious V8 with the TRD exhaust system is one of the things that I do miss about my Tundra.
You may have the answer there. I don't even have the Chassis and Engine option listed when I open Carista. I sent in a question to them, but your theory makes sense.Maybe it doesn't exist in the Manual transmission? Since they don't know what you're going to make the rev and shift points so they can't predict and align the sound support (imagine getting a rev enhancement when pressing in your clutch).
Just a thought.
