All great points guys...truly appreciate you taking the time to give feedback and comments! Currently I am still on course with the 2025 Tacoma. I do think the ZR2 is an absolute beast...truly a legit off roader, turn key from the dealer lot. It does come up short on a few things unrelated to it's off-road nature. As for the engine, it seems robust, but long term reliability is TBD. I've read many comments that oil consumption is being accepted by owners at 0.5-1 quart per 5k mile oil change...which to me, is unacceptable. The 2.7T also has an electric water pump, and there is only direct fuel injection. I'm sure the durability is there...but GM hasn't really built a bulletproof 4 popper in decades...the ecotec line has experienced many many issues. However...the 2.7 was built from the ground up as a dedicated truck engine, so there's that reassurance.

The Colorado does trump the Tacoma with some options/features, but lacks things like a bed camera, true lane centering driving assist, power passenger seat, and I think it could seriously benefit from some active noise cancelling (...engine autotune through the speakers). It would make the driving experience far more upscale, even if it is fake. I happen to really like it in the Tacoma. It's a little overbearing in the Tundra however
