There was a downhill section of I-80 that I was driving through Wyoming and I hit like 107 and didn't even realize it. Felt like maybe 85-90 lolAbsolutely!!

I agree - what blows my mind is when I drive on the highway it genuinely feels like a sports sedan in terms of both power and handling — and then when I park the truck and look at it, I see a 5400 pound brick with 12-14 inches of running clearance and I am incredibly impressed by how toyota was able to deliver such an aggressive truck that drives almost like a MercedesI just drive fast; always have. I will say though that with the Gen 4 90 to 100 mph feels like 70mph. The Toyota absolutely nailed the driving dynamics. The truck doesn't even break a sweat and is rock solid with RPMs around 2K. I don't drive 100 all that often, but on most of the trips these past few weeks I've noticed myself going 97 and slowed down to 80-85. NOTE: I'm not one of those assholes that weaves in and out of cars if they're going slower. I'm pretty considerate!
As someone who lost a family member to others' poor judgement and behavior in public roads I say being considerate is you race or only increase risk not on public roadways.I just drive fast; always have. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, including perceiving me as "...an ass clown with poor judgement ". Personally I don't care what your opinion is.As someone who lost a family member to others' poor judgement and behavior in public roads I say being considerate is you race or only increase risk not on public roadways.
My nephew a most difficult surgeries team lead and some first responder associates also have strong opinions for that behavior. It is a lot different when someone does themselves in on a race course or in properly organized sport than when they are trying to save someone horribly harmed by an ass clown with poor judgement.
I get the fun available with autos and sports but get even more of it in ways that don't add risk to others. Personally I channeled it to stuff like sports or when I was an auto club participant who did stuff on closed courses.
Interesting. I’ve done 2 in the last 10K miles. I’m definitely not going beyond 5K between intervals. This just reaffirms that. I’m also running premium fuel for the performance and longevity benefits.Im at 10,000 miles and ive done 3 oil changes already. Two under 5000 during break in, and the last one at 5000. I have noticed it looks quite darker and more of a smokey smell to the oil at 5000, than my third gen. The turbo is definitely working the oil more.
Using Amsoil synthetic and Im definitely continuing a 5,000 mile interval on this engine after this observation.
I’ve owned a few Mercedes and this truck doesn’t drive anything like a recent Mercedes and that includes the G-Wagen.I agree - what blows my mind is when I drive on the highway it genuinely feels like a sports sedan in terms of both power and handling — and then when I park the truck and look at it, I see a 5400 pound brick with 12-14 inches of running clearance and I am incredibly impressed by how toyota was able to deliver such an aggressive truck that drives almost like a Mercedes
I’ve owned a few as well. Most recently a 2010 E550. I’m obviously exaggerating. It does drive super nice imho, though.I’ve owned a few Mercedes and this truck doesn’t drive anything like a recent Mercedes and that includes the G-Wagen.
Coming from a 2020 3 series, this truck drives very well. No one is pretending it’s a luxury vehicle but for a Tacoma, this one is leaps and bounds above the previous generations.I’ve owned a few Mercedes and this truck doesn’t drive anything like a recent Mercedes and that includes the G-Wagen.
That was my point. Me comparing to a Mercedes was not to be taken literally but was more meant to express my enthusiasm about how awesome it drives for such an aggressive and capable truck.Coming from a 2020 3 series, this truck drives very well. My other car is a ‘25 MB CLE53, so the Taco feels pretty sketchy to me. I didn’t own the previous gen taco, so maybe exaggeration is makes for s worthy comparison.I’ve owned a few as well. Most recently a 2010 E550. I’m obviously exaggerating. It does drive super nice imho, though.
Compared to an 80k+ Mercedes coupe, yeah it’s gonna feel a bit different. It’s a truck. But it drives very well for a truck. I think that’s the point. My other car is a ‘25 MB CLE53, so the Taco feels pretty sketchy to me. I didn’t own the previous gen taco, so maybe exaggeration is makes for s worthy comparison.

Your spec looks very nice. Mine is a 50k OR with the upgrade package. Definitely where the value is IMO. Doesn’t have the rarity and “cool” factor that yours does but I’m happy none the lessMy taco is a $70k truck, but point taken.
