You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Both links link you to the same section, attached below!
CANCEL DIAGNOSTIC MODE
HINT: There are 2 methods to cancel diagnosis
(a) Cancellation method 1
(1) Press and hold the VOL switch for 3 seconds or more to restart the system.
(b) Cancellation method 2
(1) Turn the ignition switch off.
We also need someone to try long-pressing on their greyed-out button to see if this works for them. Fingers crossed!![]()
good to know it's repeatable, i spent way too long trying to get it perfect on the first tryHad to do this because I accidentally saved the settings but yes, IT DOES WORK lol except it saves your last settings as your default. Meaning if Iām trying to get to 165 and I saved it to +100 the first time, means I would have to do +65 next time I adjust it again even though itās set to ā0ā if that makes sense? Kinda weird. Maybe someone else can confirm that but Iām glad my front camera is working again jeez

I would also like to add. This is just my opinion. I know ppl are saying to follow the lines but because of the fish eye effect, the angle will skew the farther the line goes. I would suggest to align it with the first 1-2 feet of your front view. This will make a lot of sense once you view it from the birds eye view angle or as a whole. Good luck!!!!good to know it's repeatable, i spent way too long trying to get it perfect on the first try
AWESOME! Thanks for confirming. This is a big advancement for these trucks, allowing us to keep our camera working after any suspension lift or grill swap.Had to do this because I accidentally saved the settings but yes, IT DOES WORK lol except it saves your last settings as your default. In the file that @Delta1Seven posted on the previous page, the manual section gives the distances from the truck that the lines need to be calibrated to. This will also affect the pedestrian detection.I would also like to add. This is just my opinion. I can't argue there... They don't make it easy!Someoneās gonna have to dumb it down because it feels like im reading a rocket ship manual. +165 will do for now![]()
i did my own calibration via the diagnostics menu and did not have this happen, everything lines up and works 100% with the rave bracket. must have been a setting the toyota tech changed.Using the Rave bracket, toyota service techs had to put the camera at +162 to get the lines perfectly lined up. However, if you attempt a system calibration at this point, it will fail and disable all of your 360 degree cameras and forward/reverse guidelines.
When bringing this to Rave's attention, they went radio silent on it.
Now I have to either restore the original grille to have them recalibrate, or I have to remount the camera with a proper "grill type 2" camera bracket so that they can change the grille configuration and bring it back within engineering tolerance for the system to fully reactivate. They are estimating this at half a day of shop time, so $$$
which leaves me hunting hard to determine whether the heritage grille and the limited grille use the same bracket (but upside down), or if there's a different bracket that would be required entirely...
... very frustrated at the moment
Can you clarify whether you just did the diagnostic adjustment of the front camera and called it done? or did you adjust the front camera and then properly run the entire 360 degree camera system calibration to get all the viewpoints matching and understood?i did my own calibration via the diagnostics menu and did not have this happen, everything lines up and works 100% with the rave bracket. must have been a setting the toyota tech changed.
i only adjusted the front camera view. Can you clarify whether you just did the diagnostic adjustment of the front camera and called it done? or did you adjust the front camera and then properly run the entire 360 degree camera system calibration to get all the viewpoints matching and understood?
Trying to make sure I understand exactly as I have to figure out what my next move is to get all my functionality back (and I don't have a 3d printer or those skills).
