I'm about to pick up my new Tacoma and I couldn't be more excited. I know there's a huge sticker shock but it is what it is. I wanted to ask what people were paying for car insurance. I live in Texas and I just got quoted $251 a month for full coverage (up from $144 on my 2016 Tacoma). Is anyone else seeing this huge increase for car insurance?!

I am in DFW , Texas and my insurance for 6 months is $734 for $500 Deducible for collision and comprehensive. I previously had a 2023 Tacoma off Road and my policy increased by $72 for 6 months with the 2024. Me and my 20 year old son are listed as drivers since all drivers at each residence must be listed on all covered vehicles. He has my former Tacoma and I am listed on this vehicle as well. The 2023 Tacoma is $662 per 6 months. Two trucks covered and no home owners with this company.

Mine increased about $12 per month extra. Only have one car on the policy, but I do have a home owner discount.

Pretty shocking seeing some of these increases. The quote I got from Progressive is basically the same as my current Jeep Grand Cherokee at ~$500 per 6 months. Single vehicle with homeowners bundle discount in WA. I was pleasantly surprised to see it stay the same for a newer vehicle. The new VIN wasn't working online so I had to call directly to get the quote.

Keep shopping around!

Is it safe to assume that everyone has full coverage on their trucks? I'm assuming yes. $251 a month seems crazy. I'm already looking around for sure!

Ohio, $1309 annual w/$500 deductible. Safe driver and multi-policy discount with Encompass (Allstate's independent agent brand). No change from 2022 Tacoma to the 2024.

I currently have AmFam and that’s how much they quoted me for a 2024 Tacoma TRD OR. I’m currently paying half that, but I’m also driving a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek. Obviously, a new Tacoma is going to cost more to insure, but I plan on shopping around as I get closer to purchasing my truck later this year. I’ve been with AmFam for several years and have my home bundled, so it wouldn’t hurt to look around anyway.

I'm at $158 per month in Kansas. That's clean record, full coverage — nothing left off. I raised the deductible to $2000, but added some nice things, like zero deductible on glass. (The glass thing already paid off. In the first week of ownership, a dump truck kicked a rock onto my windshield. Insurance is paying for the whole thing at no additional cost. Now if I could only get the windshield... It's not even available yet.)

Don't have my 2024 yet, but I called the agent today to get an idea on what the change would be. Currently paying 402 every 6 months for my 2021 TRD Sport, and the 2024 TRD Sport will cost 460 every 6 months. So almost an extra $10/month, not a big deal. This is in CT with State Farm.
