BKing:I for sure recommend the product.
GG OFF-ROAD is working on a video walkthrough on the ā24 Tacoma, I think a trailhunter. I offered to let him film on mine last week when I got back into town and he said he literally just filmed the process on another hybrid Tacoma so that tutorial is set to drop any day now..BKing:
I'm trying to do this relocation. I've two nuts removed from the third brake light and can't find a third, like in the Tundra video.
The light doesn't want to budge. Is there a third, or how did you get yours out?
Thanks.
Thanks!GG OFF-ROAD is working on a video walkthrough

Itās 4 bolts and 4 trim clips to remove the spoiler, breaking down the loom w/butyl in the gasket is probably the most time consuming part, but likely more affordable to spend the 15-20 min doing this vs buying new cameras & their lead connectors. You need those 24ā leads for the GG OR kit to workAre the cameras available for purchase from parts department? Looks like could avoid a lot of disassembly if left OEM cameras in place? Purchase replacement cameras to wire up with the kit. OEM cams maintain seal? No need to remove/disassemble/reinstall entire assembly to get to the cameras?
I just completed installing my redirect! Their YouTube video was excellent. I've got a great view now regardless of having my Tune M1 camper on!
When redirecting, instead of routing the cable under the car, I decided to route it out the side of the rear fairing. There's a weatherstripping gap that fits the cables pretty well, and since I'm mounting it externally anyways, wrapping it around the edge of the camper shell seemed easier than going back inside the car and then under and then up!
Super glad I did this! When cars or obstacles are really close behind, the camera feels a little weird since it's so much further back (it was already set to the furthest out zoom setting from stock to my surprise). But when you're driving, it feels pretty normal!
Thereās another one on a 6ā bed 4th gen, join the Facebook Tune M1 group if you havenāt!Nice work that's the first Tune I've seen on a gen 4. You run the cargo camera to the inside of the camper? I'm tempted to run both facing back because of that distance on the rearview cam...
Did you get a weight on your build? MPG?
Enjoy.
very cool either way - the extra weight I'm sure is worth it. I saw a TUNE (all glass sides) all tricked out on a gen 3 this past spring in a Home Depot parking lot and did a couple circles around it. Really nice build. For the added weight you basically get a studio apartment on the back of your taco.Thereās another one on a 6ā bed 4th gen, join the Facebook Tune M1 group if you havenāt!
I didnāt move the cargo cam, I can still partially see into it since I have the window, Iāll post a pic of that later.
Hereās what I posted on the FB group
Weight: 500 lbs exactly (measured before and after on a CAT scale). I have the 5ā truck bed, and my Tune has the rear full glass window, cab pass-through window, and one side glass window, and max air fan. No mattress or solar or battery in it yet. Tune estimated itād be between 470-510 so they were pretty accurate! With the Tune, I have a remaining 900 lbs of payload capacity (excluding myself, but including full tank of gas). My Tacoma has the premium package, so sunroof, power tailgate, power seats.
MPG: Dropped by about 6 mpg, kinda bad. Driving down to Portland I got 22.9 mpg (mostly highway, half 60 mph, half 70 mph). Going back up with the camper (same starting and ending elevation), I got 16.4 mpg. Gas mileage is better the slower you go, at 60 mph itās about 17 mpg, at 70 mph it drops to like 16 mpg. So on typical highway, my range will be like 280 miles max (1 gallon left), which is a little short. Wish the Tacomas had bigger tanks.
Turbo: The 2024 Tacoma has the new 4-cylinder turbo engine. I was a bit surprised that the turbo is now always being used when driving on flat ground at 60mph or greater. I wonder how much thatāll impact the longevity. Itās usually being used at low amounts, but before it would only kick in for accelerating or uphill. However, unlike the 3rd gen Tacomas, thereās no gear hunting! Itās super smooth and a pretty low RPM on the highway! No need for those aftermarket tunes anymore!
Driving impressions: You can definitely notice the additional weight, which shouldnāt be a surprise, but kinda makes me consider those smaller campers like Hiatus a bit more, yeah you get quite a bit less space, but Iām understanding the appeal more.
Wind noise: Not bad! You can definitely notice somethingās on the outside of the truck, so itās a little noisier, but probably similar to a roof cargo carrier.
Installation experience: Excellent! Would highly recommend Accessory Outfitters in Portland!
Appearance: Excellent! I love the color with the Bronze Oxide Tacoma! The black out package was worth it in my opinion!
