This is what my 2025 Hybrid manual says, and we have the exact same engine, however I do notice better shifting of the transmission on cold days when I let it warm up before pulling away

Start it up, let it sit for a minute, then drive gently till the temp gauge shows activity. The quicker the engine gets to operating temperature the better and driving it does it quicker than letting it idle in the driveway.

I see you're in California. In temps 50f and above, I would just get in and drive. Below that, use the lock/lock/hold to remote start it as you're walking up to it. By the time you get in and put your sb on...it'll be running for a minute which is sufficient. For me, in Canada, with subzero temps...the 10 minute remote start cycle is not near long enough, even being plugged in. But I'm talking temps -30f temps 🥶 lol. Regardless, immediately putting a cold engine under load will result in a very rich fuel injection map to compensate...and thus increase fuel dilution in your engine oil (not good).

If it's cold–well below freezing–I'll remote start to make sure the oil gets warmed up so the turbo gets properly lubed.

Otherwise, nope, get in and go.

I always let it warm up if I'm jumping right on the highway.
It was always advised not to drive a vehicle hard until it warms up. with all that condensation in there.
Ever notice all that condensation dripping out of the exhaust in the morning or or anytime on a cold day?
Another important thing is not to turn the vehicle off immediately after driving aggressively or highway speeds because you want a turbo to cool down a little bit.
Speaking of Turbo, I understand it's necessary to keep the oil changed frequently because the turbo uses the same oil as the engine.
I heard it through the grapevine. so it must be true?

In the summer, start it up and wait for the RPM to drop to normal idle RPMs.

During my -40 winters, I idle her for roughly 20 minutes and she still don't show any engine temp until I get onto the highway about 3-4 minutes away of driving haha.

Let it run for a minute to properly get oil flowing then kinda take it easy. I’ve noticed with my truck that until the temperature comes up a little bit it will use the engine rpm to deliver the power instead of the turbo

Anybody follow the break-in procedure? LOL. I have only 175 miles on mine and I've 100% given it the "sudden" beans 😏 !!

Was also interesting to see Toyota mention that the hybrid system may not start when it's -35c and below. The resolution is to wait until the temperature warms up. Ha! All I know is I watched the lot guy walk out to my new truck (just before I bought it)...get in, start it up, huge plume of black-ish smoke out the exhaust pipe, shift into revers 5 seconds later, back through a snow drift, and pull it into the showroom. Was -30c at the time 😩 poor thing

Some of my location and travel is in really cold places. Never more than a minute seems fine and I don't do high speed or hard acceleration until I see engine oil temperature and transmission temperature building.

My wife's German car with VAG EA888 gen 3 in many Audi and VW vehicles manual said no hard acceleration until oil temp starts registering and that's 150 F. I treat the Toyota engine much the same.
