So this morning I'm backing into a parking spot and have no camara, screen blank. No camaras when I press the "view" button.
Screen does come on when I put it in "park" displaying the radio infotainment stuff.

Went back out and checked it 30 minutes later and works fine.
Anyone have that experience?

This happened to me a couple weeks ago with my pro. Screen went blank, no cameras, but radio still playing. At the end of my drive I restarted the truck and everything worked fine. Told my service department but they need to see it to fix it. Tell the dealer and have them report the issue to Toyota. Maybe enough people will report the same issue and they will find a fix.

Have not had that, you can try an infotainment reset next time to see if that helps. Hold the power button down for like 10 seconds. Hopefully it was just a bug. Tech is the number 1 issue on cars these days.

Have about 3,000 miles in my TRD OR Premium and what you describe has happened three times, most recently last week. Self corrected each time, within a minute or so.

This has happened to me three times so far. My TRD Sport has less the 4k miles. Turning the ignition off then back on has restored the cameras each time

Thanks everyone, I did report it to my dealer but apparently I'm the first to report.

This has happened to me once and upon touching the blank display, it fired back up in a few seconds.

Hasn't happened to me, thankfully. However, my kid covered the light sensor on the dash with some school papers today, and I was honestly scared for the whole drive home that something was seriously wrong with my screen's brightness... Until I noticed the papers.

Me as well. 6 month old TRD Sport, 3000 km. Sept.5th. Reset after ignition turned off then on again. Has happened only once so far. Going in next week for my six month service and dealer already knows about it. We shall see.

People who have this happen should probably report it to Toyota. It definitely sounds like something that they need to fix.

Only had my truck two weeks and has not happened, but it seems to happen way too often to other people.

This happened to me at about 4K miles. It did not reset upon multiple stops/off and restarts throughout the day, but was fine the following day. Informed dealer and had noted on service records. Has not happened again and I'm at 6300 miles.

Funny this actually happened to me the other day. I was driving home. I went to turn the radio up a little and had noticed I had zero audio, no volume selection, no notification sounds, like the system was mute. Volume knob on steering wheel and below the screen did nothing, no volume slider on the screen. I restarted the truck at the next intersection, and it suddenly was working fine.

I got home, went to back in my driveway and that's when I had this issue that the OP had, Screen went to flip to the reverse view, went just black, no cameras at all, after restarting the system once I was parked, everything was normal and have not been able to replicate it since.

Looks like I joined the club today! Less than 3 weeks old and under 500 miles. Everything was fine when I left home this morning and after leaving my 1st stop. When leaving my 2nd stop I put it in reverse and the display went black and I got the system malfunction message. I put it back in park and the audio page came up. I pushed the camera button and again black screen. All the way home the malfunction message continued pop up and after I cleared it the next thing it showed was an icon that showed the rear sensor. It was a truck with a person standing behind it and lines coming out from where the sensors are on the bumper. Like others have reported when I got home I turned it off and started again and everything seemed to work fine.

@Jimbo662 Damn - that doesn't leave you with a good feeling.

I think it is just a matter of time until it goes down for good. Good luck, and let us know what your dealer has to say.

Can you check it for codes? If you don't have any stored there is probably no point in even taking it to your dealer unless it dies for good.
