I think we all agree the JBL is crap. It’s kinda the crappiest crap that ever crapped when it comes to “premium” audio.

The solutions so far was to add that small amp for more “Powah!!!”.

I was adjusting the system today and I think I found a good enough compromise for correcting the front bias and hearing strong sound from the rear speakers.

Try adjusting your F/R balance as shown below and set your volume to at least 50. I found it best on Max volume. I usually stream music from apple carplay from my phone. I would expect that volume to blow up your ears if you switch to radio or another source so turn it down before you switch.

I experienced that if i just connect phone for media then sound quality is way better as compared to playing through carplay

It's interesting that opinions are so varied about the JBL system. Mine is almost as good as the Mark Levinson system in my last Lexus, and my ears are kinda picky. It's perfectly acceptable as-is.

And if you feel it has a front bias... Yes, adjusting the fader to the rear is the solution.

The door speakers have a good bass response, so fader wasnt an option for me.
I just took out the center speaker and it sounds way better.

I tried this months ago on my TRD Sport and wasn't impressed. I've just accepted the fact that the JBL is what it is. My ears aren't what they were when I was 20 years old, so maybe the JBL is not as disappointing as it could be.

I’m not necessarily impressed, but it’s objectively much better with sound distribution and fullness than factory settings. Ymmv.

I agree. I’ve been doing this since shortly after I got my truck. If I’m being honest, it’s surprising how much moving it back one notch lowers the front JBL speaker. I wish there was a half notch:)
