I have the same tri fold on my 2024 PRO. My 1st tri fold bed cover.
Mine leaks in rain and car wash. Is that normal?
We've had quite a bit of rain these last two weeks and there is definitely some water getting into the bed, but not very much. Usually just a dribble of water from what I've seen, and that's both being parked and driving in heavy downpours. I'd say it's a 100% acceptable amount of water lol. If you're trying to keep stuff in your bed completely dry, I don't think there is a tonneau cover out there that will give you a truly water-tight fit, and maybe a camper shell would be a better option. AWESOME truck btw! Congrats on that beauty. I love that color.

Just wanted to add a story with a happy ending on this bed cover thread. I got the Bakflip MX4 a while back. Long story, short, I think I got a dud build from the manufacturer. Bad latches, scraped up bed rails (from the latches not working properly) and just overall bad fitment.

ANYWAY, after some back and forth with Bakflip support, they are sending me a new cover with all parts included. I'm hoping this one fits better after a clean install but I'm also very happy that Bakflip stands by their products and that they are willing to work with their customers to keep them happy!

I just installed my OEM Cover. It was quite easy even with one bad arm (recent elbow/wrist surgeries). I am happy to report there are no issues with the automatic tailgate operation. Also, the rearview mirror camera option still has 100% coverage with the cover folded up and connected to the stays. After reading some comments about difficulties with alignment, I decided to mark the cover’s position near the bolts. When I folded the cover back up to allow tightening of the bolts, I was able to confirm it did not move out of alignment. I do have one question: Why does the driver’s side drain tube have to go to the center bed drain hole (per OEM instructions)? I could not see a reason for this from underneath the truck. Being a good boy, I followed instructions. I plan on using some 3M cable mounts to hold the hoses against the bed side. Before doing that I may move the left one to the other drain hole if no one offers a reason not to. Thanks

I put the drain on the left side, no issues and/or leaks in the bed yet.

I'll post it here and tag the OP as well, maybe they can update the first post to include the instructions. @Everything TRD

Not sure if I saw these in the previous pages.

  • I just installed the OEM cover on my 6' OR and can confirm it is beautiful. Installation took me about 2 hours and was straight forward. I placed an online order with a local dealer and paid $1,140. All you need is a T30 bit, 1/2" socket and a screwdriver. Very easy to get done.

The Off Road has a 120V outlet on one side and DC jacks on the other and I was slightly concerned the relocated bed rails would block those access doors. I can report everything works as expected.

If you are going to install this yourself please allow me to offer a few observations:

  • The cargo rail screws have a fine thread. You re-use these to install the top rails of the cover. Be careful not to strip these. It is easy to cross-thread them.
  • The top rail of the assembly has a gasket the seals between that rail and the top of the bed. My gasket was not applied evenly at the factory but with a hair drier you could loosen the adhesive and reset the seal. My variance was minor and didn't see it until I was fully installed.
  • The instructions say to push the rails flush against the head of the bed before tightening. The rails will not be equal. I think the left rail is slightly more forward than the right. This ultimately does not matter.
  • The automatic tailgate works great.
  • You may need to adjust the struts that hold the cover in the fully upright position.
  • I could not get the drain hoses to advance into the factory holes in the bed. A step-bit resolved that problem. A countersink may have fixed it too. In short, the hole is too small.
  • I wonder if the load rating of the cargo rails is reduced but I have used the bed hooks for the most part.
The install is easy and I'm happy I went OEM and it really makes the truck look awesome. Good luck!

There is a crevice in my OCD brain that wants those hoses to equidistant, and they are not.

I was able to crawl into the bed and close the tailgate while the truck sat out in the rain. I found out at least where the water is entering the bed. The gutters are being overwhelmed. The rain was moderate (not heavy, not light). This has to be water collecting on the panels not leaking through the side gaskets. Surely this can’t be normal. First I pulled the hoses from the drain holes to confirm they were flowing. They were. Just too much water for them to handle.

Thanks for posting the instructions. Installed ours last month. Here’s a pic - getting ready for deer season.

The tubes are simply too small to deal with anything greater than a drip. I think the tubes need to be 3/8" but darn if I don't want to drill that size hole in my bed. ;)

Drain hole? I don't have a drain hole in my bedliner anywhere. I'm parked in my driveway on a slight hill so when it rains, I get quite a bit of water in there. Are there plugs in there that were supposed to be removed during dealer prep?

Three holes up by cab. About 3/8” diameter. I have the spray-on liner. Not sure if they had plugs in there before. I can’t imagine they would.

I have the spray-in liner as well and my truck definitely didn't come with plugs for the drain holes. You should find 3 of them up near the front of the bed (left, center, right).

I didn't want to drill bigger holes in my bed either so here are a couple of options for you to consider that involve reducers to fit the OEM drain holes. I can't tell you how well they'll work in rainstorms like you described, but it may be worthwhile to try.

What I did customizing some Amazon reducers

What bsquaredMTB did with some BAK reducers

Any update or progress on this? I was just checking mine if a light rain and had water coming in that area. I pulled the tubes and saw no flow at the hole, but some water dripping from that section. I think that rear cutter section is not water tight and allows water to just bypass the hose holes and enter the bed. I would love to investigate the "gutter assembly" on the rail without the cover on. But I don't want to take my cover off to do so. Maybe someone could post some picks before they install.

I also had some water coming in from the tailgate side. I think it was from parking at an angle and water dripping back at the rail gutter, landing in the bed.
